water colours, in which I attempt, in a dramatic encounter with the landscape, the light, the paint and the water, to convey both the beauty, the physical sensations, the drama and the mood of the scene.

Although I paint architecture and other subjects - and my London show in 1976 included portraits - it is the landscape which is my continuing delight and source of inspiration.”
